Ken Lupton
One of New Zealand’s most accomplished Grand Prix hydroplane drivers, brings decades of experience at the top of the sport. A second‑generation racer and multiple‑time Hydro Thunder, Masport Cup and AE Baker Cup champion, Ken is known for his precision, calm under pressure, and mastery of the 2000‑horsepower Lucas Oil GP577 hydroplane. His international career has taken him across Australasia and North America, earning him a reputation as one of the sport’s most respected competitors.

Ricky Howard
A powerhouse of Australian powerboat racing and the record‑breaking pilot of Hyperactive. Ricky made history as the first person to break the 30‑minute barrier in the iconic 112 km Bridge to Bridge race, averaging an incredible 221 km/h. Known for his fearlessness, mechanical skill, and blistering pace, Ricky continues to dominate major events, including his E.C. Griffith Cup multiple wins in Whitenoise.

This free, ticketed event runs from 6pm–9pm, offering fans, families, and boating enthusiasts a rare chance to hear directly from two of the sport’s most dynamic and decorated racers.
